Tomorrow mom is having surgery on her eye to replace the lens with a synthetic one and hopefully she'll be able to see for the first time in nearly 50 years! She was hit in the eye with a piece of flying metal as a child and has had multiple surgeries on it over her lifetime, but she is VERY excited about the possibility of being able to see out of if after tomorrow. It is a procedure that is still in the trial phase, but has had lots of success so far and the doctor said she should be able to see at about 70/30 after tomorrow- not perfect but at least she should be able to make left turns (we usually have to turn right if it's a halfway busy street, go down to a red light, and make a U turn because she can't see to the left and her depth perception is so bad with only one eye). She's been planning this long before the cancer returned and hopefully it will be successful! The worst part of the surgery is that she'll be under general anesthesia which is a little concerning considering her congestive heart failure and the cancer. Please pray that everything will go smoothly and that she'll be returned the gift of sight that has been her desire for so long.
This little video clip is in honor of my mom who loves to save her Christmas trees for a few months and then see how fast they burn- my husband has taken up the tradition and this is the video of our tree from this year. We even burned 6 trees at once one year! At least she knows she'll leave some sort of legacy one day!
Thanks for all of your continued prayers! -Mandy

My husband burned our tree last year. It went up so fast we got a fake one this year!
Good luck Dusty!!!
Dusty, my heart is with you today and, as always, my prayers too. Will be anxious to get a follow-up report. Love you, Donna
