My computer is dying, and packing for this weekend's teen retreat has been put on the back burner long enough...so I'll make this quick. All is still well on the cancer front (Thank you, LORD!), but there is still some debate about where to go from here with mom's heart. Her Cardiologist mentioned a defibrillator at last week's appointment; something that has been mentioned in the past, but never seriously entertained. Until now. As you know, entertaining an idea certainly doesn't mean we see it through to fruition. It's still too soon to know any details...so that's ultimately what THIS post is about. Next week, we'll head to a specialist to find out the expectations of that type of procedure...God willing, he'll tell us that this would only be used as a precaution and she's entirely too healthy for such drastic measures. But we'll see. Admittedly, it makes us a little nervous to think about all that this would entail, so we'll keep our minds occupied until we meet the man with the plan. In the meantime, please continue to pray for peace of mind for our friends, and our discernment for next week's appointment.


I'm off to camp with some of my most favorite teenagers--we'll catch up next week...

Not long after I posted that last entry, the flood waters broke for some of our friends. Praying for us means that we joyfully pray for you, too. The details are unimportant, but if you'll say a prayer for a peace that passes every ounce of understanding for families who are sitting at the doorstep of a cancer diagnosis, or those who are grieving the final days of an amazing father. We know that the Lord holds every situation firmly in his hands, but we pray that the transition into unfamiliar territory will be incredibly peaceful.

We head to the Oncologist tomorrow morning, to make sure that all is still well. Friday's appointment with the Cardiologist left us lobby-sitting most of the day, as mom and Papa (her father) had back-to-back appointments at the same office. We left with a thankful! no-news report that will carry us through until our next visit a few months out.

Again, thank-you for praying for the continued normalcy of our days-- we feel confident that your prayers will sustain our friends the way they have done for us. We'll be back after tomorrow's visit...
