Dog Days of Summer!

The hottest month of the year has us GLUED to Nonnie's pool-- keeping us cool as we wind down the last few weeks of Summer. We've been doing some sewing, crafting, movie-watching, and LOTS of Popsicle tasting as we try to find some relief from the blazing hot sun. We've had a really fun Summer, but Fall can't seem to come quickly enough! Hopefully cooler temperatures will allow us more time to give you updates on our fun days together, and birthday weekends spent with family and friends (August & September are big birthday months for us!). I wish we could record every minute together and post it for you here, but being behind the camera takes away from being present in the moment...and we wouldn't want to miss a thing! Thank-you for continuing to check in on us-- we love you dearly, and we'll be back soon with lots of pictures from Fall!

**Without being too much of a Debbie Downer, I wanted to mention that mom was having some struggles with breathing, and after meeting with her cardiologist we found that her congestive heart failure has worsened in the past few months. He recommended increasing her meds, and she will see him this Friday to follow up. While nothing makes us sadder than to hear of her health (heart failure OR cancer) worsening...we remain grateful that it has taken 10 years for the doctors to see any change in her heart's condition. Often times, it is the side effects from cancer that can be the hardest to deal with, a lesson we learned when mom was diagnosed with heart failure many years ago.

I tried to let this update slip passed this post, but couldn't sign off without being authentic about where we are. It is easy to talk about the VERY MANY good days, but so hard to talk about the bumps in the road that set us back only inches. I'll let you know when we hear from her cardiologist on Friday, we will know more about where to go from here after the follow-up appointment. Thank-you for remembering to check-in on us while we're taking in the time together-- we're so thankful for your faithful friendship and your floods of prayers that get us through the rough patches!

M.

So glad to hear you all have enjoyed your summer together! It sure has been a hot one!
I'm sorry, however, to hear about your Mom's heart condition worsening. Your family is in my prayers.
Thanks, Morgan, for keeping everyone up to date on EVERYTHING! Love it!

My heart is a little weaker..but my spirit is strong! My friends and family mean ther world to me! What if God had decided Adam was enough and didn't need anyone else...Well, that's a crazy thought, what would we do without each other!
